SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The Utah Hockey Club has announced the opening date for its new practice and training facility, marking the completion of the structural development phase.
Smith Entertainment Group said it plans to have the 115,780-square-foot facility ready for team use in September 2025. The facility will serve as UHC’s official headquarters and will feature two ice rinks, a state-of-the-art locker room, training and medical facilities, and spaces for visiting NHL teams.
Located at the southeast end of The Shops at South Town in Sandy, the facility is expected to be open to the public by January 2026. Visitors will have access to event venues, community locker rooms, equipment rentals, and a team store with a pro shop. Both ice rinks will be available to the public when not in use by the NHL. Several skating programs, including amateur hockey and figure skating, will be offered to the community.
The training facility was designed by Salt Lake City’s Babcock Design, with Layton Construction, based in Sandy, leading the construction process.
