Cameron Schmidt was the Stars’ third-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. He spent last season in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants. In 61 games, he had 78 points on 40 goals and 38 assists. He was a minus-seven. In seven games in International play with Canada, he had four points on two goals and two assists.

Michael Brandsegg-Nygard last night led the Red Wings in points with three on a goal and two assists. He was drafted 15th overall in 2024. Last season in the SHL, he had 11 points in 42 games on five goals, six assists, and was a minus-two. In 11 playoff games, he had four goals, two assists, and was a minus-three. In two games with Grand Rapids, he was pointless. Finishing as a minus-one. In three Calder Cup Playoff games, he had two goals, an assist, and was a plus-one. He also played in 23 International games, recording 13 points on eight goals and five assists. He was a plus-three.
