After a career year, fan favorite Nathan Walker has been signed to an extension by the St. Louis Blues that will keep him with the team through the 2027-28 season.

It’s a two-year deal, that gives the 31-year-old a bit of a bump-up from the minimum $775,000 AAV he’s playing on this year, to an $887,500 AAV for the following two seasons.
Walker will be going into his 7th season with the Blues organization, but last year was a breakthrough. He had his first full season with the big club, playing 73 games in his fourth-line role, averaging just over 12 minutes of ice time per night. The tenacious, high-energy forward handed out a career-high (by far) 281 hits with his 5’9″, 187-pound frame. That was good for 7th in the NHL last season.
His eight goals and 16 points were a bonus to the forechecking and physicality he brings. But he surprised everyone by scoring three goals in the Blues’ opening round seven-game series against the Winnipeg Jets. He also handed out a whopping 40 hits in those seven games.
Overall, in 229 regular-season NHL games, Walker has 56 points, a plus/minus rating of 0, and 563 hits.
