Utah goalie not reporting to training camp and will be traded, with Oilers linked

Utah Mammoth goaltender Connor Ingram will reportedly not be attending training camp as the team looks to find him a new home via trade.
Connor Ingram is reportedly available in trade as Oilers seek to improve goaltending
According to Utah Mammoth insider Cole Bagley, the decision for Ingram to skip training camp while facilitating a trade was a mutual agreement.
The 28 year old Ingram has played 102 career NHL games since making his debut with the Predators in 2021-22. For two seasons with the Coyotes, Ingram made waves as he earned more starting opportunities. Two years ago, Ingram started 50 games with an impressive save percentage of .907.
Last season with the Utah Mammoth was a down year for Ingram statistically, and involved difficult personal circumstances. Ingram entered the player assistance program in March after losing his Mother to cancer in December.
Ingram will be a UFA at the end of the 2025-26 season, and is only paid $1.95M in annual salary this year. He should be relatively cheap to acquire, can fit into the Oilers cap situation, and may be an upgrade on Pickard.
Plenty of Oilers fans are hoping to see the team make a move and pick up Ingram before training camp.
If the Oilers believe in Ingram’s ability to bounce back after a down season last year, he could be a shrewd addition to the roster early on this season and finally add some stability to the crease.
