Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs opened practice on Thursday with tnew acquisition Matias Maccelli skating on the top line alongside Auston Matthews and Matthew Knies.
Maccelli is coming off a down year in Utah, where he scored eight goals and 18 points in 55 games. The 24-year-old has a career-high 17 goals and 57 points in 2023-24.
Max Domi continues to deal with a lower-body injury and won’t be a full participant as on-ice activities begin. He is listed as day-to-day.

Forward Kirby Dach skated in a regular jersey at Habs practice Thursday as he continues to work his way back from right knee surgery on Feb. 28.
Executive vice president Jeff Gorton said the team has a plan to have Dach ready to play on opening night.
The 24-year-old struggled at both ends of the ice last season, scoring 10 goals with 22 points in 57 games and was a minus-29.
Dach was a part of the ‘Group A’ split at Habs practice on Thursday, that also included potential linemates Ivan Demidov and Patrik Laine. Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky were together in ‘Group C’.

Defencemen Kaiden Guhle and Lane Hutson practiced together in Group A, while Noah Dobson and Mike Matheson were paired in Group C, leaving Alex Carrier, Arber Xhekaj, and Jayden Struble, the toegether in Group B.
Ottawa Senators
Head coach Travis Gren upodated the status of defenceman Nick Jensen, saying he is doing well and is expected to skate with the group sometime over the next week.
It’s unclear at this time if he’ll be ready for the start of the season.

Stutzle, 23, had the second-best statistical season of his career in 2024-25, when he scored 24 goals and 79 points.
