NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – It may feel like the peak of summer outside, but believe it or not, the NHL season is right around the corner.
The Nashville Predators opened training camp this week. They held their first practice on Thursday.
The Preds are coming off a disappointing second season under Andrew Brunette. They finished 7th in the Central Division with a 30-44-8 record.
Yes, the focus will be on the players this training camp. Brunette is under a pretty hot spotlight himself.

General Manager Barry Trotz was asked about his thoughts surrounding Brunette heading into the 2025 season. He made it clear that Brunette has taken a good look at things, made the necessary tweaks, and gotten the approval from those who matter most.
“I know the players have put their rubber stamp on some of the changes because not only did Andrew talk to the players, but he also listened, that’s a really important factor too. I think they’re probably more prepared than they ever have been,” said Trotz.
