Any first impressions on the day? It’s nice to get back if nothing else. Yeah, um, well, I got another one to get out down here, but, um, yeah, it was good. I mean, it’s always fun to get going for real and for me to be out there the first time with them, so, uh, it’s always exciting time of year. On Logan Stanko and said he’s pretty much set to play center this year ready to do it if you want to do it. Just talk about that decision and move him to the middle. Um, well, it’s just based out of, we got a lot of fours, a lot of high end fours, and you gotta get them on the ice. You gotta figure out, you know, how that’s gonna work. So, um, I don’t know, we’re gonna move lines around all camp, try different things, but. Can’t see how that looks. Logan said that you had mentioned it to him in his exit interview, so it’s something obviously that you had considered in the past. But you know, a lot of guys play center and junior, become wings in the NHL. What was it about him that thought that you thought he could make them move back to center at this level? You have to be willing to understand that there’s a lot of work that has to get in the play center. There’s a lot of little things people don’t really understand. And you have to be willing to take the, take the bumps a little bit and um so, but he, but the fact that he’s done, like you said in the past helps, doesn’t really help at that level to say, oh yeah, you can do it at this level, but. Um, like I said, we know what kind of kid he is. He’s willing to kind of take on whatever we hand him, so we’ll see. I guess, I don’t know that it’ll go past a couple of practices. Might might go, who knows, but you got to try some. Miller Jankowski in the yellow on contact and didn’t look like slaves with the main group. Any concerns with those three? Uh, well, the yellow jerseys are just both those guys were a little nicked up in the in the summer, so we’re just kind of, it’s everything’s slow play and. Savo we’re just holding him off because, you know, he, he trains pretty hard in the summer and he was feeling a little sore so it’s OK, good, you’re not going out and it might be a few days until he says he’s 100%, we’re not gonna put him out there. He could have come out there, but. It’s just how we’re gonna do that. Nick Healers brings you a lot of things, but one of the things he reminded us is this is your 11 for him. He brings you some, uh, leadership and, and, and the gift of guys with a lot of experience. Yeah, well, you know that, and you know what he’s about, which is great. There’s no like, oh, I’m not sure you know what he’s gonna bring. We know what he can do. It’s just a matter of now. Finding the pieces right and who plays with who well and then it’s really up for him. It’s about getting up to speed on what we’re trying to do. So you know there’s going to be certainly a little adjustment period there, but that’s what we have the training. During that period of time that he was taking to decide, I assume you spoke with him at some point in that process. What were your conversations with him like and how much of that is him probing you for information and how much of that is you sort of making your pitch? Yeah, it was both, I guess really. It’s a good point. Like he was probably one of all the guys I’ve ever talked to doing this stuff was definitely asking way more questions than most do. I think most guys, they understand what this team’s about and the players, and generally it ends up being who pays the most, right? Like if you’re being real, but he, that wasn’t it was for him, so that was kind of refreshing too to be like. OK, like he’s, he’s, you know, there’s other motivations here. So, um, but yeah, that was, that was very, I thought it paid off obviously. You’ve often talked about the defense is the key to your team. This is the second straight year where you’re turning over, you know, a good, a good chunk of that. How hard is that, I guess, on you and then, uh, but then you add in obviously a lot of talent whether it’s or Al Well, it’s part of the game unfortunately, right? Like you love to keep all your guys we’ve talked about that at length, but Um, there’s always exciting when you bring in new people and see what they can do, and I mean, I think we’re all excited with, with Core, with that athletic ability. I mean, you notice it that first day of practice, I mean, he’s, he moves pretty well, so that, that’s pretty exciting, um. But you’re right, I mean that that the D is on any team I think is the most important group, so we gotta get them all clicking. Is the lefty right thing a concern for you? Uh, not today, um, but yeah, I mean that’s not ideal maybe, but maybe it is. There’s also advantages to it. Like there are certain areas of the game where it doesn’t benefit you, but there are, you know, offensively there’s areas where you’re now set up to shoot pucks better and quicker and. There’s a lot of things, so we’ve got a lot of talent, which is good. I think guys that can handle it because it is a, you know, a little tougher spot to put people in, but I think we’ll be fine. A lot of talk with with Ke Andrew is that this system would be a better fit for him and his skill set than what he was doing with the Ranger, right, so. You’re skeptical. Well, I’m skeptical because everybody plays the same systems. Got you. Vegas, like there’s little tweaks on everything, but there’s not a coaching league doesn’t want to DFTA. It’s not a coaching league that’s not talking about pressure. It’s just some teams get. More stuff on how they do things, but everybody’s doing basically the same thing. Some of them do better than others, obviously. So I think you just want to get good players and then good people. That’s really what you want to do. And then it’s in the details of what they already know. How would you describe kind of just the mood or the theme of. This preseason last year you guys were replacing so much people talk about the team maybe taking a step back. This year kind of has a different kind of character to it, I think. I think every year it does. I mean you’re gonna find something to talk about and something to gravitate to. I think the less changeover was nice just to, you have less explaining to do from my end, you know, instead of having 8 guys that you got, now you only have 3 that you’re really focusing on because all the other guys should know what’s going on. Um, so that’s, I, I guess I don’t know what what that is, a little easier maybe, um, but it’s, it’s every year takes on a new life like whatever you’ve done in the last year and you’re like everybody’s starting in the exact same spot so that’s, that’s exciting too. Are you planning on. Having primo as part of your rotation of uh goals this year, uh, that’s, I don’t know, I mean. I hope not, you know, in essence, I mean we hope these the two guys we have are healthy and playing to their capabilities, but we also know that you got to have a third guy. We’ve probably used the third guy as much as anyone, and he’s, you know, exciting young kid that we’ve targeted for a while too, so his name’s been around. Um, I’m pretty happy that we have that kind of 3 because there’s a good chance we’re gonna need him. Is that a full circle moment for you, the guy you got traded for now now now maybe your two kids are gonna play together. It’s just a reminder, right? Like life and getting older and. You know, you, you guys know, I mean you guys are getting older with me, right? Like you just, that’s why we try to focus on every day and try to make the most of it and, you know, worrying about things down the road or things let’s just get through today and enjoy it and try to be the best we can. So if that’s full circle maybe but it does, it’s a reminder that’s for sure. You always talk about how special this, this area is, how cool to have the fans out there, see people come support you like they do every single. Well, to be honest, I didn’t even notice. I was just dialed in. I was, this is my first practice too. I’ve been off for a long time, so I was trying to make, I gotta get this dial in. So, um, but it’s, you know, the community, um. Uh, connection is awesome and it has been for a long time and I think that’s one of the special things about this area is the connection that the players have with the fans. Uh, it’s, it’s, it’s pretty unique actually in in the world of sports, so we’re definitely gonna keep that going. Think about the year Jackson Blake said since a year ago walking on the ice, you’re just trying to make the team. Well, that’s what’s great about this time of year too is there’s always, you know, you, you want that you want it, you know, we’re gonna have this next group now. Is there someone there that we go, oh, we gotta think about how do we find that mix, and that’s basically what happened with, with Laker last year, right? It wasn’t like it wasn’t on the radar necessary to be this year and all of a sudden, you know, couldn’t have Jarvi a couple of years ago. It wasn’t really, hey, you’re gonna be on the team. So that’s this time of year they’re definitely that that’s something you hope happens. Is there somebody like that you can look at that you think is that candidate? Well, I’m not gonna single anyone out. I mean, we have some pretty good high prospects that we think are gonna, you know, push for spots at some point, but it’s, it’s, you know, let’s see. Thank you. Thanks.
