NHL insider gives injury update on Vancouver Canucks prospect Jett Woo
On Friday, Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali was a guest on Halford & Brough in the Morning on Sportsnet 650 radio where he gave an update on Jett Woo’s injury.
According to Dhaliwal, the injury and subsequent surgery was on Woo’s wrist after he got hurt during the Abbotsford Canucks’ playoff run, which concluded with their first-ever Calder Cup championship.
Dhaliwal echoed with Patrik Allvin said earlier this week, that Woo is month-to-month, but the insider did add that he’s hearing the Winnipeg native could be back as early as the end of October.
Woo, Vancouver’s second round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, has yet to make his debut in the National Hockey League, spending the last five seasons in the American Hockey League with Utica and then Abbotsford.
Last season, Woo appeared in 67 games for the Canucks, but his production dropped off when compared to the year prior, as he finished the 2024-25 campaign with 18 points (two goals, 16 assists) and added six points in 22 games during the playoffs.
Unless there are multiple injuries on the blueline in Vancouver, it seems unlikely that Woo will make his NHL debut this season, which means he’ll be Abbotsford bound for the entire 2025-26 campaign.
