Utah Mammoth goalie Connor Ingram is available on the trade market, but the Oilers are reportedly unlikely to acquire any goalie before the regular season.

Oilers insider reveals team is unlikely to target Connor Ingram acquisition

According to a new update from Oilers insider Jason Gregor, Edmonton is unlikely to take the risk of picking up Ingram – or any other goalie for that matter.

Stan Bowman and them, I think they’re going to ride with Skinner and Pickard to start the season.

Gregor points to the fact that there is some significant risk in picking up Ingram. With the Utah Mammoth last season, Ingram only appeared in 22 games. He dealt with the passing of his mother and mental health issues, which led him to entering the NHL’s Player Assistance Program on March 9th, 2025.

Ingram had posted very good results in the NHL prior to last season, but due to the long layoff of playing, he may need some time in the AHL to find his game. Based on Gregor’s assessment, that’s a risk the Oilers are uncomfortable with considering his $1.95M contract.

But more than that, Gregor is suggesting that the Oilers will likely pass on any goalies that become available on waivers as well. The team is confident in Skinner and Pickard, and will trust them again for a make-or-break season in Edmonton.
