We’re into training camp and 28-year-old forward Jack Roslovic is still without a home.
Though his name has continually popped up in the rumor mill, no team has secured the services of the two-time 22-goal scorer.

It’s a real head-scratcher of a situation. There are 12 teams in the NHL that have over $5 million in cap space. The Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabres are among teams linked to Roslovic by NHL insiders.
Last season, Roslovic earned $2.8 million as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes. He recorded 39 points (22 goals, 17 assists) in 81 regular season games. During the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs, he chipped in four points (one goal, three assists) in nine postseason games.

Maybe he’s prepared to play the waiting game in search of the right opportunity. If a contending team suffers an injury to their middle-six, Roslovic could add some scoring punch.
Perhaps the one thing holding back Roslovic from finding a new team is that he’s a bit one-dimensional. There isn’t a whole lot of value that he brings to the lineup if he’s not scoring. He’s not going to make enough impact on the defensive side of the puck and he doesn’t bring a great deal of physicality.

Roslovic might be a specialist – but it’s hard to find a 20-plus goal-getter. Signing him as an unrestricted free agent isn’t going to cost teams anything other than cap space. He’s probably going to command a $3 million salary. It’s not like they’re having to fork over a draft pick or prospect to acquire him.
Don’t expect Roslovic to remain unsigned for much longer. Eventually, a general manager will budge and meet his contractual demands before the 2025-26 NHL regular season opens.
