The Vegas Golden Knights have gained a reputation for trading away players they’ve drafted in the 1st round, and now one of those players is calling them out.
While the strategy of trading away all of their young talent for “win now” pieces has seemed to work out so far for Vegas, could the strategy begin to backfire on them?
Brisson Takes Shots at Former Club
While sportsmanship and class are highly respected traits in the world of hockey, sometimes tempers flare and shots are taken. Such is the case for former 1st round pick of the Vegas Golden Knights, Brendan Brisson, who didn’t shy away when asked by the media about Vegas trading him away.Brendan Brisson said he wasn’t surprised when the Golden Knights traded him to the Rangers.
«It’s kind of evident, I guess,» he said with a smile. «Vegas, first-round picks»
He thinks the fresh start will be good for him.
Throughout 24 games with the Golden Knights, Brisson ammsed 8 points. He’s spent the rest of his professional hockey career playing in the AHL for both Vegas’ and New York’s AHL clubs.
It didn’t take fans long to shift the blame away from Vegas, pointing out that Brisson’s play on the ice may have factored into the trade.
Well, that and he just didn’t produce or offer anything really while with Vegas.
