With Toronto’s first preseason game kicking off Sunday against Ottawa, here’s how the lineup is going to look like as the 2025 NHL regular season draws nearer.

As Toronto travels to Ottawa for the first preseason game of the year, a lot of excitement and anticipation surrounds the roster as last minute battles and an intense training camp are sure to bring the fireworks on Sunday afternoon.

Well in the nick of time, we now know.

How the Maple Leafs Line Up vs. the Senators

The team released their lineup moments before the game against the Senators

The third and fourth lines will be likely what we see coming from the Marlies however Jacob Quillan has a chance to impress and make himself known ahead of the likes of Kampf.

Meanwhile the Ottawa Senators released their lines for this afternoon a bit earlier on, with stars like Tim Stutzle and Brady Tkachuk part of the game:

Which Players to Watch in the Leafs’ Preseason Opener

Well the majority of the players are going to be part of the youth movement with only Nick Robertson, David Kampf, and Calle Jarnkrok the real ‘NHL’ talents that are travelling to Ottawa.

It’ll be interesting to see them try and take the reins while still fighting for their spot on the roster as trade rumors and speculation run rampant.

A big story that will be focused on is that of Easton Cowan, who is no doubt going to get a hard look from Berube as he tries to make the team this season. He’s got nowhere else to go really, his potential is through the roof and could follow in the footsteps of Matthew Knies.

Another player to keep an eye on is going to be Jacob Quillan, another player who made his debut last season and had a very strong Prospect Showcase, and with Toronto looking to dish off Kampf and Jarnkrok in the future, he’s the perfect replacement option in the bottom-six.

Both Artur Akhytamov and Vyacheslac Peksa will be looked at during various points in the game, and Akhtyamov is expected to be a huge part of the Marlies system especially if Dennis Hildeby earns a call-up.

For those who are looking to watch or listen to the broadcast, Sportsnet One will be broadcasting it for TV viewers meanwhile TSN will have a live radio broadcast of the game.

The scheduled start time for the game is 3pm ET.
