Hockey season is back! The San Jose Sharks begin their 2025-26 preseason against the Vegas Golden Knights.
Michael Misa and Sam Dickinson will both be in the lineup for the Sharks. Dickinson will be paired on defense with Vincent Desharnais. Misa’s linemates aren’t yet known, but he’d been skating with William Eklund and Igor Chernyshov during training camp.
Neither Eklund nor Chernyshov is in the lineup for the Sharks on Sunday. Misa could skate with Macklin Celebrini’s line of Jeff Skinner and Will Smith. Celebrini has been out with an illness and won’t play. Smith’s move to the wing also opens up the ability for the two forwards to play on the same line.
Celebrini is feeling better. Won’t play tomorrow. Still unsure if he’ll skate with the non-game group tomorrow morning. #SJSharks— Max Miller (@Real_Max_Miller) September 20, 2025
New goalie Alex Nedeljkovic will start for the San Jose Sharks, but it is unclear if he will play the full 60 minutes.

“We’ll see how it plays out,” head coach Ryan Warsofsky said. “If he gets peppered in the first or second, we’ll take into consideration a little bit of everything. We have a pretty good idea of how we want to roll these goalies in the preseason.”
Warsofsky went on to discuss what he wants to see out of Dickinson and Misa in their first NHL action, albeit preseason.
“At the end of the day, [I want to see] their skill level. Their ability to create offense goes without saying; whatever league they’re in,” Warsofsky said. “I want to see them play without the puck. I want to see how they defend [and] how they manage their shifts. How they manage the game, those sorts of things. So it’s a good challenge for them.”
Warsofsky is watching for under-the-radar Sharks to step up
The San Jose Sharks bench boss pointed out that forward Anthony Vincent has had a strong camp so far. He’s excited to watch him play. Vincent spent the 24-25 season with the San Jose Barracuda. He had 10 goals and nine assists in 68 games.

“Mike [Grier] talked about earning it. Vincent is going to play tonight, and I think that’s awesome. He deserves it. He’s had a good training camp,” Warsofsky said. “He was really good last year in the American League. I’m excited to see him play.”
Vincent isn’t known for his offense, but he brings the energy that Warsofsky felt the Sharks somewhat lacked a season ago. Vincent had 88 PIMs for the Barracuda and was often on the penalty kill.
Veteran NHLers Tyler Toffoli and John Klingberg are also expected to be in the Sharks’ lineup.
Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. PST and will be streamed on the Sharks website. The Audio of this game will be available via the Sharks Audio Network.
