The San Jose Sharks have announced their first round of roster cuts.

There are no surprises in the seven players cut. Prospects Max Heise, Teddy Mutryn, Jack Bar, John Gormley, Artem Guryev, Josh Ravensbergen, and Christian Kirsch have all been let go from Sharks training camp.

Kirsch and Ravensbergen are the San Jose Sharks’ top goaltending prospects. Ravensbergen was selected in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft (30th overall). Kirsch was chosen in the 2024 NHL Draft (116th overall).

Ravensbergen will play for the Prince George Cougars in the WHL, while Kirsch will join the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL. Both players featured in games at the 2025 Golden State Rookie Face-Off.

Heise and Mutryn were also selected by the Sharks at the 2025 NHL Draft. Mutryn will play in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats, and Heise will play in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders.

Defenseman Jack Bar was brought in on a tryout and was released. Artyem Guryev and John Gormley could feature for the San Jose Barracuda this season. Guryev and Gormley are also options to play with the San Jose Sharks ECHL affiliate, the Wichita Thunder.

None of the seven players cut appeared in a preseason game. The Sharks training camp roster now has 56 players (34 forwards, 17 defensemen, 5 goalies).
