The Edmonton Oilers have made their first moves of the 2025 training camp.

The club is returning F Tommy Lafreniere to the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL. They are also returning F David Lewandowski to the Saskatoon Blades.

LaFreniere was selected in Round 3 of this past spring draft. The right-hand shot from Hornby Island, B..C. has gone 24-32-56 in 68 GP for the Blazers in 2024-25. He enjoyed some good moments in Sunday’s split-squad game in Edmonton, including a sitter he could not quite bury. He had a shot, a hit and was -1 in 14:48.

Lewandowski is a 6’1 177 LB German-born forward who made an impression in Saskatoon last season. He was 15-24-39 in 52 GP. Lewandowski was a Round 4 selection, #117 overall in the 2025 draft. He had a block, a hit, and was charged with a giveaway in 10:26 (+1).

Both players had junior eligibility remaining. Neither move should be considered a surprise.

The Oilers travel to Winnipeg tomorrow.
