The Pittsburgh Penguins have just confirmed what journalist Renaud Lavoie reported a few days ago regarding forward Sidney Crosby.

It’s obviously a disappointment for the fans who will be at the Bell Centre tonight, but it was to be expected.

Confirmed: Sidney Crosby will not play against the Montreal Canadiens tonight

The Penguins knew very well that, with everything that happened this summer, Crosby would have received a huge amount of love tonight in Montreal.

I get the feeling this is only postponed, though!

Journalist Stu Cowan has the details:

“Fans who were hoping to see Sidney Crosby in action with Pittsburgh Penguins for pre-season game tonight at Bell Centre against the Canadiens are out of luck. Here’s players who will be on the ice for Penguins”

Robby Fabbri, Boko Imama, Joona Koppanen, Tommy Novak, Sam Poulin, Tristan Broz, Anthony Mantha, Danton Heinen, Valtteri Puustinen, Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, Ben Kindel, Avery Hayes, and Atley Calvert will be the Penguins’ forwards.

No, this is not exactly the lineup of the century that will be in uniform tonight for the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Bell Centre.

The Canadiens also revealed their lineup for tonight, with Noah Dobson making his Habs debut and Ivan Demidov also in the lineup.
