Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn is staying off the ice for the moment.
The 36-year-old forward is dealing with an upper-body injury, head coach Glen Gulutzan told reporters Wednesday. His status is day-to-day.
Benn recorded one hit in a little more than 15 minutes played during the Stars’ 3-2 preseason overtime win at home against the Minnesota Wild.
With more than two weeks until the puck drops on the regular season, the team is simply being cautious with Benn, according to reports.
