FRISCO, Texas. – The Dallas Stars started their training camp in Frisco, Texas, last week, hosting a total of 65 players at the start. Running camp is new head coach for the 2025-2026 season Glen Gulutzan, who is a familiar face for the Stars organization. During the 2013-2014 season he was the team’s head coach, and has since been on the coaching staff at various NHL teams. He was appointed head coach of the team this summer after the Stars were once again knocked out of the Western Conference Finals.

The Stars have split the 65 players into three groups. Group A consists of team staples and veteran players such as Mikko Rantanen, Jamie Benn, and Wyatt Johnston, but with a few newcomers to watch out for, like Artem Shlaine and Emil Hemming. Group B is a mix of both veteran and young players of which the most noticeable are Roope Hintz, Mavrik Borque, and Liam Bischel. Group C is mainly composed of players from the Texas Stars (AHL) and prospects.

There are four notable absences from training camp due to injuries. Kyle McDonald (ACL injury, est. return Nov), Luke Krys (Achilles injury, est. return early 2026), Cameron Hughes (Core injury, est. return mid-Oct), and Chase Wheatcroft (Wrist injury, est. return mid-Oct).
