Washington Capitals News & Notes

The Washington Capitals picked up a win to kick off their preseason, 5-2 over the Bruins on Sunday. Sonny Milano had two goals, while Hendrix Lapierre, Bogdan Trineyev, and Ryan Chesley each added a goal. Logan Thompson stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced, while Garin Bjorklund stopped all 15 shots he faced.

Philadelphia Flyers

Jett Luchanko played in four games for the Flyers last season, but was held pointless and finished with a minus-three. In nine games for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, he had three assists. He also played in 46 games for the Guelph Storm of the OHL. Luchanko had 56 points on 21 goals and 35 assists. He was a minus-three with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and four game-winning goals.

Washington Capitals

Ethan Frank, in 24 games for the Capitals last season, had seven points on four goals and three assists. He was a plus-three with a game-winning goal. Frank also played in 35 games for the Hershey Bears, recording 28 points on 20 goals and eight assists. He was even in plus/minus with four power-play goals and five game-winning goals.
