“When you’re on the top, a lot of people are on your heels trying to be where you are, and that’s a given every single year,” said Eden. “It’s going to be a battle, it’s a long road. I think it just starts with preparation and practice and taking it one weekend at a time because it is such a long season and you can’t focus on the end goal, you need to focus on the process.”
Wisconsin women’s hockey is filled with history and success. The Badgers have hoisted the national title trophy eight times in program history. Senior forward Laila Edwards said being a part of such a storied program means a lot.

Some of the Badgers will be away from the team in February to play in the Olympics. Senior Caroline Harvey said it’s an honor, but it will be tough.
“Just so busy trying to be present in both situations, whether we’re gone or here,” said Harvey. “They’re two different teams and managing both sides of it. But yeah, just grateful for the opportunity and just ready to go here most importantly.”
After the season-opening series at Bemidji State, the Badgers host their first home series on Oct. 3-4 against Maine at La Bahn Arena in Madison.
