The Devils picked up their first win of the preseason over the Islanders 6-2 on Tuesday. The Devils had six different goal scorers, with Connor Brown, Evgenii Dadonov, Nico Hischier, Dawson Mercer, Ethan Edwards, and Dougie Hamilton all scoring. Georgii Romanov stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced, while Jacob Markstrom stopped two of the three shots he faced.
New York Islanders News & Notes
The Islanders picked up a 5-4 win over the New York Rangers last night. They got goals from Cameron Berg, Kyle Palmieri, and Gleb Veremyev, who had two. David Rittich stopped 20 of the 24 shots he faced in two periods, while Marcus Hogberg stopped all five shots he faced.

Marc McLaughlin spent last season with the Boston Bruins, Providence Bruins, Devils, and Utica Comets. In 14 NHL games between the Bruins and Devils, he recorded three points on two goals and an assist. He was a mins-two. In 40 games between Utica and Providence, he had 20 points on five goals and 15 assists. He was a plus-six with a game-winning goal.
New York Islanders
Maxim Shabanov spent last season in the KHL with the Traktor Chelyabinsk. He played in 65 games, recording 67 points on 23 goals and 44 assists; he was a +17. In 21 playoff games, he had 20 points on ten goals and ten assists; he finished as a +14.
