Utah Mammoth

Goalie Connor Ingram cleared waivers on Friday and was assigned to the American Hockey League by Utah.

The 28-year-old native of Saskatoon has been with the Arizona-Utah franchise for the past three seasons, posting a 3.27 goals-against average and a .882 save percentage over 22 games in 2024-25.

New York Rangers

Rangers star forward Artemi Panarin practiced with his team on Friday while wearing a red jersey, however the 33-year-old Russian sniper has been cleared for contact.

Panarin has dealt with a lower-body injury during training camp, but appears in line to be ready for the season opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 7.

Panarin netted 37 goals and 52 assists over 80 games last season. The year prior, Panarin recorded a career-best 120 points, including 49 goals.

The veteran left winger is entering the final season of a seven-year, $81.5 million contract, paying him an average annual value of $11.64 million.

Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers are preparing for the worst after captain Aleksander Barkov sustained a knee injury during Thursday’s practice.

Head coach Paul Maurice told the media on Friday that Barkov was undergoing surgery on his right knee, adding he hopes to have a detailed update later in the day.

Montreal Canadiens

The Habs will be without defenceman David Reinbacher for approximately four weeks due to a broken metacarpal bone.

The 20-year-old Austrian netted two goals and three assists over 10 games with the American Hockey League’s Laval Rocket last season.

Reinbacher missed most of 2024-25 AHL season after suffering a knee injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the preseason, forcing him to undergo surgery.

Selected by the Canadiens fifth overall in the 2023 NHL Draft, Reinbacher has yet to play a game in the NHL.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Veteran goalie James Reimer has signed a professional tryout agreement with one of his former teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Maple Leafs are in need of some goalie help after Joseph Woll, who is expected to share the net with Anthony Stolarz this season, is away from the team to deal with the a personal family matter.

There is no timetable for Woll’s return to the Maple Leafs.

Forward William Nylander returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday’s workout due to maintenance.
