Detroit Red Wings News & Notes:

The Red Wings suffered their first loss of the preseason last night 3-2 against the Penguins. The two Detroit goals were scored by John Leonard. John Gibson got the start and stopped 13 of the 14 shots he faced while Michal Postava stopped four the six shots he faced.

Buffalo Sabres News & Notes:

The Sabres suffered a 5-2 loss to the Red Wings last time out. They got goals from Josh Doan and Noah Ostlund. Alexander Georgiev played the whole game, stopping 35 of the 40 shots he faced.

Detroit Red Wings

Michael Brandsegg-Nygard, in 42 games last season in the Swedish Hockey League with Skelleftea AK, he recorded 11 points on five goals and six assists; he finished as a minus-two. He played in two games for the Grand Rapids Griffins, but was held pointless and finished as a minus-one. In 28 International games, he had 17 points on eight goals and nine assists; he finished as a plus-one.

Buffalo Sabres

Tyson Kozak, last season, in 21 games for the Buffalo Sabres, had five points on three goals and two assists. He was a minus-two with a power-play goal. In 31 games for the Rochester Americans in the AHL, he recorded 14 points on eight goals and six assists. He was a plus-five with a power-play goal, a shorthanded goal, and one game-winning goal.
