Opening night is approaching in the NHL, and as a result of teams looking to solidify their rosters, a massive 20 player list has been revealed on waivers.
After a long summer, the National Hockey League is less than two weeks from returning, and with so many teams gearing up to dethrone the Florida Panthers, the 2025/26 campaign is bound to be a great one, with opening night now drawing near.
While there wasn’t much shocking player movement this off-season, teams have changed up their rosters ahead of the new season, and now, with opening night so close, they’ve started to trim their rosters down.
A Whopping 20 Players Have Hit the NHL Waiver Wire Today
After a few players were waived in the last few days, now 20 have officially hit the waiver wire on Saturday according to PuckPedia, with this being the group of players:
That’s a loaded list, but for the most part, it’s simply teams returning AHLers back to their AHL squad for the upcoming season, but with interesting names like Poirier and Sillinger among them, there could be some value for teams out there.
With the season getting closer by the day, teams will have to continue trimming their roster down, and with other teams looking to add talent without giving up assets of their own, expect even more shocking moves to be made between now and opening night.
