The Pittsburgh Penguins pared their training camp roster down to a slightly more manageable 58 players Saturday. The players will report to the AHL training camp, which begins on Monday.
Amongst the early cuts were former third-rounder Emil Pieniniemi and forward Brett Murray.
Murray, 27, has 26 games of NHL experience, including three with the Buffalo Sabres last season.
Pieniniemi, 20, had 60 points in 60 games last season with the Kingston Frontenacs and will turn pro this season.
