Justin Bieber might be one of the world’s most famous people, but his Toronto Maple Leafs fandom appears to come first.
While his wife, Hailey, was out in the streets of New York City at the Met Gala, Bieber appears to have passed up an opportunity to be her plus-one.
With the Leafs in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Florida Panthers, Bieber opted to stay at the couple’s California home to watch the game.
And it wasn’t exactly the most humble place to be watching it.
After dropping his thoughts on Monday that this would be the “yearski” for the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup, Bieber shared pictures and videos of one of the biggest TV screens you could possibly imagine.
The Leafs got the victory on the evening, though much of the postgame conversation circled around the health of goaltender Anthony Stolarz, who left the game midway through the second period and was transported to a local hospital after a series of hits to his head.
Though their separation at the event might have been odd to some, it’s not that out of character for the couple.
Per Glamour, the Biebers have attended the event for some of society’s highest members together just once, showing up at the rare fall event back in 2021. It was also the last time Justin attended the event, with Hailey last going solo in 2022.
Though Justin was once one of the world’s most sought-after artists, he’s been out of the public eye for much of the last two years.
His last public performance was at an NHL-themed event in February 2024, when he performed a small set at Toronto’s History for an NHL All-Star Game party.
