Brady Tkachuk is the star of the show to kick off Prime Video’s second season of Faceoff: Inside the NHL television series.
The Ottawa Senators’ captain put himself under the microscope last season and is part of a group of players allowing hockey fans to take a glimpse behind the curtain of the National Hockey League.
The 26-year-old Tkachuk was part of a project that required hundreds of hours of filming, not only at the Canadian Tire Centre and on the road with the Senators, but the Amazon crew was also on hand for his stint with his brother, Matthew, for Team USA at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
The six-part series will be released on Prime Video on Oct. 3, but Tkachuk was on hand for an exclusive screening for media and some of the club’s fans at the Lansdowne VIP Cinema last Wednesday.
“I feel like I’m an open book to begin with, but just for people to see the ins and outs at the rink,” Tkachuk said on the red carpet. “The stuff that people normally wouldn’t see, and team camaraderie, too.
“I think that it shows our group and the city well, and so I’m excited for everybody to see that part of my life. It was an awesome experience.”
We’re not allowed to give away any spoilers because of the rules under the embargo until the series is released, but we can tell you a little bit about what is featured on Prime Video.
The crew joined the Senators in late January, when the club was on the outside looking in at a playoff spot. Tkachuk knew what to expect because he played a small role in Matthew’s appearance last season with the two-time Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.

Brady Tkachuk, seen talking to the media at the Canadian Tire Centre on Sept. 3, 2025, says the Prime Video series will give people the chance ‘to see the ins and outs at the rink. The stuff that people normally wouldn’t see.’
There is time spent at home with Tkachuk’s wife, Emma, and the couple’s newborn son, Ryder. The Tkachuk family — Keith, Chantal and sister Taryn — are also on hand to see Matthew and Brady suit up with the Americans at the tourney in Montreal and Boston.
There are some neat scenes from the Americans’ game against Team Canada at the Bell Centre during the round-robin portion, especially his family in the stands while both Matthew and Brady dropped the gloves right after the opening faceoff.
“Family is so important to me,” Tkachuk said. “My wife, Ryder, and I think everybody knows my brother, sister and parents, how close we are. It’s important to show that side because it’s something I care about the most.”
Tkachuk added that the 4 Nations behind the scenes was special: “People are really going to enjoy the 4 Nations segment. The whole episode is unreal. It’s tough to pick a favourite moment.”
It also has scenes from the club’s run to the playoffs for the first time in eight years. There were ups, there were downs and some special moments as Tkachuk helped lead the Senators into the Battle of Ontario in the first round of the playoffs.
You would think it would have been tough to have cameras around during that roller-coaster ride down the stretch, but Tkachuk didn’t mind.
“They did a great job of not being invasive, in your face, and even in the room, you almost forget they were there,” Tkachuk said. “They do such a good job of respecting your space, but also capturing those emotional moments that everybody wants to see.
“Not everything is sunshine and rainbows in those emotional moments. They did a great job of capturing that.”
Tkachuk said down the road this episode will be a nice reminder of what it took for the Senators to make the playoffs.
“When I had this opportunity, it was going to be meant to be, that they’re going to capture a long wait for the drought to be over, and we’re going to make playoffs, and capture that ride and the highs and lows of that stressful time of the year,” said Tkachuk.
“It was the perfect opportunity to show the hunger, the drive, and what it took to get to the playoffs and capture some of that. It’s gonna be really cool for the city and the fans to see that kind of behind the scenes of what it took to get there.”
Tkachuk has played 512 games in his NHL career. The other players featured in the Prime Video series include Sidney Crosby, Anze Kopitar, Seth Jarvis, Brad Marchand, William Nylander and Zach Werenski.
