Former Canadiens Defenseman Logan Mailloux Already Making Noise in St. Louis

Barely arrived with the St. Louis Blues, defenseman Logan Mailloux is already drawing attention and sparking numerous comments, both positive.. and negative.
The defenseman, traded by the Montreal Canadiens earlier this summer in return for Zach Bolduc, wasted no time impressing his new teammates and general manager Doug Armstrong.
Armstrong was clear when he spoke about the 21-year-old defenseman.
The Blues are betting big on Logan Mailloux and his offensive qualities
Armstrong explained that acquiring him filled a hole in their lineup.
“Adding Mailloux fills a need for us, today and tomorrow.”
“We think he’s ready now. I told him he’ll have the opportunity to earn a spot at camp, but it’s up to him to keep it.”
His comments have been echoed by several local journalists, who note that Mailloux is attracting a lot of attention.
Andy Strickland, a St. Louis journalist, wrote that he is the most intriguing player to watch at camp, in his opinion. He added that several teammates are already big fans of Mailloux’s talent.
Of course, not everything is perfect. A good portion of Blues fans still haven’t digested the trade, believing the team gave up an established young talent for a player who has yet to prove himself and who comes with a troubling past.
But I still think that if Mailloux keeps moving forward like this, he could quickly change that perception.
