Winnipeg Jets

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was on the ice for the team’s practice Tuesday, a day after cutting Monday’s session short.

“He didn’t feel quite right, so he just came off,” Jets head coach Scott Arniel told reporters Monday.

Arniel also said Monday he was unsure if Hellebuyck would play in Winnipeg’s pre-season matchup against the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night.

The 32-year-old Hellebuyck is coming off his second straight Vezina Trophy and third Vezina overall after posting a 2.00 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage during the regular season.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Carolina Hurricanes have released veterans Oliver Kylington and Kevin Labanc from their professional tryout agreements, reports TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston.

Kylington played 19 games last season split between the Colorado Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks, registering one goal and five points.

Labanc had two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in 34 games last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets.
