The Minnesota Wild locked up their star forward in historic fashion on Tuesday.
Kirill Kaprizov agreed to an eight-year, $136 million contract, the team announced. The AAV will be $17 million.
It’s the richest contract in NHL history both in terms of AAV and total dollars. Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin previously held the richest contract when he signed a 13-year deal worth $124 million ($15.5 million AAV)
