FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – The Minnesota Wild announced star left wing, Kirill Kaprizov, has signed an eight-year, $136 million extension to remain on the team.
This comes after Kaprizov turned down an eight-year, $126 million extension in early September which also would’ve been a record deal. Kaprizov will receive $17 million per year on average starting in the 2026-27 season through 2033-34.
Kaprizov has made a huge difference since he’s donned the Wild jersey. The left wing is already the franchise’s all-time leader in points per game (1.21), goals per game average (0.58), and most overtime goals with 10. His 2021-22 season has him sitting atop the franchise’s history with 108 points in a single season as well as goals with 47.
The Minnesota Wild open their season Thursday, October 9 vs. the Blues in St. Louis. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
