Leksands officials are not saying much about Detroit Red Wings prospect Anton Johansson’s injury except that he isn’t on the Swedish Hockey League team’s road trip.

That means he will miss at least the next two games.

The rough-and-tumble Johansson was injured Saturday during a 4-1 loss to Lulea. Johansson is a top 10 Red Wings prospect, someone the Red Wings would like to bring to North America as soon as his SHL season is over.

According to coach Johan Hedberg, Johansson has not accompanied them on the road trip and will also miss the matches against Växjö and Frölunda.

I’m not entirely sure if we have any prognosis here right now. I haven’t received any word about it, says Johan Hedberg. #LGRW https://t.co/CLKoix3p3W

Injured Nate Danielson is skating. He’s another youngster bidding for a promotion to the NHL.

Coach Todd McLellan expressed concern about veteran defenseman not showing enough competitiveness. It’s clear McLellan will stress accountability this season.

Red Wings Extra

Rookie defenseman William Wallinder has quietly played effectively for the Red Wings in their preseason. He’s played four games, showing two assists and a +1 plus-minus.  He’s not going to break camp with the parent club, but he’s in the Red Wings’ plans. A player we haven’t seen much of is Latvian Edourds Tralmaks, signed after a strong season in the Czech League. He’s only played one preseason game.  Meanwhile, Albert Johansson (no relation to Anton) continues to impress.
