Chicago Blackhawks Trade Rumors, News & Tidbits
Chicago Hockey Now: The Blackhawks made a fourth round of training camp roster cuts on Monday, assigning four skaters and two goaltenders to the AHL. One prospect was also sent back to his junior club in Canada.
Additionally, Dominic Toninato cleared waivers on Monday and will join the IceHogs. The Blackhawks training camp roster is now down to 30 players.
More CHN: ICYMI, Frank Nazar netted a hat trick to lead the Blackhawks to a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
The Athletic: Entering his fifth NHL training camp, Lukas Reichel has still yet to cement himself as part of the Blackhawks roster. Reichel is reportedly on the trade block once again and could be on the move this week.
The heater continues. Blackhawks 2023 2nd-round pick Roman Kantserov tallied another two points on Monday, scoring his fifth goal of the season and adding a primary assist. Kantserov now has 10 points through his first 10 KHL games this season. He also received a shoutout on X from Byron Bader.
Chicago should have one in Roman Kantserov.
Kantserov has started off the KHL season with 8 points in 9 games. Looking like last year wasn’t a fluke.
Very few players have this exact type of progression but the ones in the ballpark make the NHL and often end up stars.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
The Athletic: As if a three-peat wasn’t already hard enough. The Florida Panthers will be without captain Aleksander Barkov for the 2025-26 campaign, and star winger Matthew Tkachuk is also expected to miss multiple months with an injury. Panthers GM Barry Zito chatted with Pierre LeBrun about how his team can overcome such significant losses.
More LeBrun: The 2025-26 NHL regular season is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 29th, 2026. That would mean less preseason games and an earlier start to training camp. The new 84-game schedule doesn’t seem to be a fan favorite, but meaningful hockey is September is excellent (in my opinion).
Alberga: Max Pacioretty is reportedly hanging up the skates after 17 NHL seasons. Paciorretty is taking on a role with the University of Michigan, where he played college hockey.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Ben Kindel is making a late preseason push for the Pittsburgh Penguins’ opening-night roster. Dan Kingerski from PHN broke down Kindel’s performance in Monday’s 2-1 win over the Red Wings.
Forever Blueshirts: Rangers new captain JT Miller exited Monday’s practice early with a lower-body injury. Fortunately, the latest reports suggest that he avoided suffering anything serious.
