VOORHEES, N.J. — The Flyers are getting down to decision time.

They might already be there. Or at least close to it.

The roster for the Flyers’ second-to-last preseason game Thursday night sure has a dress rehearsal look to it. The club welcomes the Islanders to Xfinity Mobile Arena a week out from its regular-season opener.

With their training camp roster trimmed to 24 healthy players, the Flyers are expected to roll out a lineup that they’ve used over the last two days in practice.

“I wouldn’t say it’s 100 percent in stone, but the majority of it, I would say yes,” Rick Tocchet said Thursday morning. “Most teams at this point, the last couple of games, you start to try to chunk things together.”

The Flyers’ roster needs to be at a maximum of 23 players by Monday at 5 p.m. ET.

After hosting New York, the Flyers have their final exhibition game Saturday afternoon at home against the Devils. Tocchet said the Flyers’ meeting Thursday morning was about showing the gradual growth of the team grasping its new system.

“All we’re looking for is improvement,” the head coach said. “We talk about maximizing your team and your talent level. That’s our job as coaches. You’re getting that little inch every day.

“The hard part is to do it every day. It’s hard, it’s hard to play winning hockey. It’s hard to do certain things. You can do it once in a while, but can we do it all the time? That’s the goal.”
