Philadelphia Flyers forward Trevor Zegras had some very high praise for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes during a recent interview with Greg Wyshynski of ESPN.The Flyers made some other nice additions in the offseason including the signing of centerman Christian Dvorak, who should help them in a big way in the faceoff dot, as well as trading for former top-ten pick Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks.
Zegras is going to give the Flyers another offensive weapon in their top-six, if he can stay healthy and hit his potential, and recently, the 24-year-old had some very high praise for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes.
Trevor Zegras has very high praise for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes
In a recent interview with Greg Wyshynski of ESPN, Trevor Zegras opened up about his fresh start in Philadelphia, what went wrong in Anaheim that led to him being traded, as well as his offseason, which he spent a lot of time with the Hughes brothers – Jack, Luke and Quinn.
During the interview, Zegras said to Wyshynski that one thing he’s very happy about by leaving the Pacific Division is that he’ll only have to face Quinn Hughes two times, rather than four times a season.
Zegras also went on to say, jokingly of course, that he never wants to play a game against Quinn Hughes again, calling him the best hockey player of all-time, a very high praise for the former Norris Trophy winner.
“I never want to play Quinn ever again. He’s the best hockey player of all-time,” Zegras said.
The Bedford, New York native also spoke about spending time this summer with the Hughes trio golfing, taking a funny jab at Quinn Hughes, saying he’s very slow on the course and will take 10 practice swings before he even hits the ball.
“I like Jack’s game because he is the quickest, fastest golfer player I have ever seen in my entire life. He will have a full conversation with you while he’s putting the tee in the ground, and then he’ll swing quick and then finish his conversation. Whereas Quinn is the exact opposite. He’ll take 10 practice swings and then hit one.” Zegras said.
While Zegras is looking forward to not facing Quinn Hughes as much anymore, he’s going to see a lot of the blueliner in a couple of months as the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks face each other twice in an eight day span on the 22nd & 30th of December.
