Company manufactured 360-degree centre-hung LED scoreboard and halo display for installation designed by consultancy Anthony James Partners for Amerant Bank Arena, an ice hockey stadium, in the City of Sunrise
Yaham has supplied LED displays for a major AV upgrade of the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida, home to the Florida Panthers ice hockey team. Designed by technology consultancy Anthony James Partners (AJP), the project includes a 360-degree centre-hung LED scoreboard and halo display, extensive ribbon boards, and a new broadcast content management system aimed at improving in-venue visuals and media workflows.
The new centre-hung display, manufactured by Yaham, spans 151ft in circumference and 31ft in height, providing over 4,700sqft of digital canvas with a reported 325 percent increase in resolution compared to its predecessor. A 75ft diameter LED halo suspended above adds an additional 258 linear feet of continuous display space.
The installation features more than 1,800 linear feet of ribbon boards, club-level ribbons, vomitory and tunnel displays, as well as dual lobby boards and an upgraded digital marquee on the venue exterior.
AJP engineered a custom hoist and rigging system allowing the centre-hung and halo displays to retract for non-sporting events without reducing the venue’s rigging capacity. The bowl audio system was also reconfigured with repositioned and additional speakers to maintain consistent sound coverage around the new display.
In parallel, the venue implemented Phase 1 of a broadcast production upgrade using the Ross Tessera Content Management System. Designed by AJP, the IP-native platform supports SMPTE 2110 workflows and centralised content control to facilitate live event broadcasts and future content delivery.
Michael Rowe, chief executive officer at Anthony James Partners, said: “AJP exists to remove risk and maximise return for our clients. This project demonstrates exactly how our process works. We don’t just design scoreboards and technology systems; we stay engaged through every hurdle: finding the best product and installer, managing every inspection and construction challenge, and ensuring systems are performing at their highest level. And we’re here for our clients long term. That’s what separates us in this industry.”
Matt Caldwell, president and chief executive officer of the Florida Panthers, added: “Each year we research and implement new ways to improve and enhance our fan experience… We are thrilled at what the new technology of this brand-new scoreboard will bring to our arena’s atmosphere and the exciting ways it will engage our fans. We are excited for our fans to see the fully completed scoreboard in full use on October 7 for our home opener.”
