UTICA, N.Y. — The Utica Comets are gearing up for an exciting new season with fresh plans and enhancements for fans.
Michael Lehr, vice-president of marketing for the Utica Comets, said, “We had a lot of time to rethink the entire building, and the addition of the digital dasherboards gave us the opportunity to think differently about the way fans can experience the show outside of what goes on, on the ice.”
The Utica Comets are gearing up for an exciting new season with fresh plans and enhancements for fans.
Lehr explained that the team has found ways to use the video and dasherboards simultaneously to create a 3D experience.
Fans can also look forward to new promotional nights, including a “Frights and Flights” night where kids can trick-or-treat inside the arena and adults can sample different alcohol offerings.
Lehr said, “We’re going to have Santa here every game, and we’re doing the Comets Christmas Market with 20-plus vendors.”
Traditional fan-favorite promo nights will return as well. Lehr said, “As you turn the calendar, we have sock toss, Star Wars night, art night and more.”
Additionally, the Comets are introducing a new way to enjoy the most popular games. Lehr said, “A lot of people didn’t want to get a full season pack, so we opened up that 8-game package, and the 8-game package is the 8 best games of the year.”
The Utica Comets season begins with a preseason game against the Syracuse Crunch Thursday, Oct. 2.
The regular season begins Friday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
