The Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf was among the players placed on waivers Friday.

The 30-year-old has spent the past four seasons in Toronto, most recently recording five goals and 13 points in 59 games during the 2024-25 season. In 301 games with the Leafs, the centre has scored 31 goals and added 54 assists for 85 points.

The Chomutov, Czech Republic native was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2017. Across four seasons in Chicago, Kampf tallied 17 goals and 58 points in 235 games.

Flames Lose Solovyov

The Colorado Avalanche claimed defenceman Ilya Solovyov off waivers from the Calgary Flames.

The 25-year-old spent most of last season with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers, scoring five goals and 28 points in 59 games. In 15 NHL games from 2023-25, the Mogilev, Belarus native has four assists.

Solovyov was originally selected in the seventh round (205th overall) by the Flames in the 2020 NHL Draft.

A pair of other waiver claims were made on Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota Wild claimed defenceman Daemon Hunt off waivers from the Columbus Blue Jackets, while the Florida Panthers claimed forward Cole Schwindt from the Vegas Golden Knights.

Hunt, 23, has made 13 appearances for the Wild, registering one assist. He has recorded eight goals and 59 points in 173 games with the AHL’s Iowa Wild and Columbus Monsters.

The Brandon, Manitoba native returns to the Wild after being drafted 65th overall by the team in the 2020 NHL Draft.

Schwindt, 24, played 42 games with the Golden Knights last season, scoring one goal and adding seven assists.

The Kitchener, Ont. native was selected 81st overall by the Panthers in 2019.
