Watch bear charge at Seattle Kraken mascot in Alaska
Seattle Kraken mascot Buoy and player John Hayden were startled by a bear during the team’s annual trip to Alaska.
Gavin McKenna has been touted for years as the top prospect for the 2026 NHL Draft, but playing in Canadian junior hockey has made him less accessible to U.S. television viewers.
That’s changing this season after McKenna signed with Penn State, taking advantage of changed NCAA eligibility rules and name, image and likeness opportunities.
In fact, NHL Network has announced that it will air his first two college hockey games on Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4 when the Nittany Lions visit Arizona State.
McKenna, 17, a 6-foot forward, was named Canadian Hockey League player of the year after recording 129 points in 56 games and leading the Medicine Hat (Alberta) Tigers to the Memorial Cup final. He’s joining a college hockey team that went to the 2025 Frozen Four.
Here’s how to watch generational talent Gavin McKenna in his college hockey debut:
