Samuel Girard Ready for Game Action

Colorado Avalanche defenseman Samuel Girard (lower body) is set to join the lineup for Saturday’s preseason finale against the Dallas Stars, Evan Rawal of the Denver Gazette reports. Girard, who has been dealing with a lower-body injury during training camp, is one of only a few Avalanche regulars who have traveled to the game. The fact that Girard will play on Saturday night indicates that he will be available for next week’s season opener against the Los Angeles Kings. Girard offers modest fantasy value, coming off a year in which he amassed 24 points (three goals, 21 assists), 95 shots, 111 blocks, and 62 hits in 73 contests.–Taavi Pailk
