Tomkins was sent to AHL Bakersfield on Saturday.
The Oilers recalled Tomkins on Friday to back up Calvin Pickard because Stuart Skinner was unable to play due to illness. Tomkins was 12-10-4 with a 2.55 GAA and a .907 save percentage with AHL Syracuse across 26 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Tomkins is currently fourth on Edmonton’s organizational depth chart behind Skinner, Pickard and recent trade acquisition Connor Ingram.
