Former Detroit Red Wing forward Filip Zadina is establishing himself in the Swiss National League with his new team, the Davos HC, as a diver.
The league’s new rule is an attempt to control all the diving, and Zadina could have the rule named after himself. After he was fined again, it would make sense to call it the “Filip Zadina Rule”.
Is that how he wants to be perceived by his competitors?
The forward was fined 4,000 francs for a second time, after he embellished on a penalty call. This is out of the ordinary, as no other Swiss National League player has been fined for breaking the new rule.
Zadina has been fined the tune of $5,027.70 (in exchange rate) in US dollars in total for his diving.
That’s expensive, and just think, he could’ve just saved the money to go deep-sea diving if he desired it so much.
The Former Detroit Red Wings Forward Was Hired For His Offense
Though the Davos HC might be hiding its head in shame with this latest news, they have received the benefit of Zadina’s offensive skills.
This season with the Davos HC, the Czech-born forward has scored 8 points (6-2) in 9 games this year.Although the Davos HC might be a beneficiary of Zadina’s skills, he’s still becoming an issue for simply embellishing penalties, which could result in further fines.
Establishing a name for yourself like this is troubling news.
