“If Luke Hughes and Jackson LaCombe get $9 million a year, is Quinn [Hughes] getting $20 million a year?” Blake Price said.
Jeff Marek went on to add, “Well if Luke Hughes is $9 million, what does that mean for someone who is, you know, arbitration eligible at the end of the season like Philip Broberg. All of a sudden, like what is St. Louis going to pay. The cascading effect, like everything is joined right and then whatever Hutson signs for, it’s going to affect Bill Guerin in Minnesota with what he has to do with Zeev Buium. Nothing exists in isolation here with any of these contracts. All these contracts cascade to everybody around the NHL and for the purposes of this show, yeah, it’s going to affect Quinn Hughes too.”
