All five Pittsburgh Penguins players who were waived Saturday as general manager Kyle Dubas slashed the once-bloated training camp roster down to the final 23 players cleared waivers Sunday at 2 p.m.
The most notable waived player was defenseman Ryan Graves, who has four years remaining on his contract, which carries a $4.5 million average annual value.

In addition to Graves, Sam Poulin, Rafael Harvey-Pinard, Boko Imama, and Alexander Alexeyev also cleared waivers and will report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the AHL.
All five players have NHL experience, including Harvey-Pinard, who has played in 83 NHL games for the Montreal Canadiens. Poulin was the Penguins first-round pick in 2019 (21st overall), and has played 13 NHL games.
The NHL waiver wire was crowded Sunday as teams across the league pared down their rosters before the Monday afternoon deadline. Other players on the wire include former Penguins’ second-round pick Calen Addison (New Jersey) and Penguins prospect Jonathan Gruden (New Jersey).
A couple of goalies hit the wire as well. The Boston Bruins waived Michael DiPietro, and the Washington Capitals waived Clay Stephenson. Both are expected to be claimed, though the Edmonton Oilers, the presumptive landing spot for either one, acquired Connor Ingram via trade from the Utah Mammoth last month.
