Official signing alert of a heavyweight enforcer familiar to Red Wings fans

A former Detroit Red Wings forward has officially signed with an Eastern Conference organization.The Detroit Red Wings’ 2nd round (46th overall pick) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Givani Smith, has officially extended his longevity within the National Hockey League.
This forward has now been confirmed to have successfully earned a contract during his recent professional tryout (PTO) agreement with an Eastern Conference organization, the Carolina Hurricanes.

Givani Smith is now officially under contract with the Hurricanes, where he scored a one-year, two-way deal with $775,000 at the National Hockey League level and $140,000 at the American Hockey League level, where he is guaranteed at least $250,000.
The general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, Eric Tulsky, made a statement regarding Givani, claiming he is a good fit for the club and can add depth to their offensive group.
«Givani came to camp as a PTO and proved that he deserved a role in the organization,” stated Hurricanes GM Eric Tulsky. “His size and physicality make him a good fit to add depth to our forward group.”
Tulsky’s statement regarding Givani is extremely valid, as this forward tied for third overall in team scoring, recording two goals with the Hurricanes while adding an assist within just four preseason games.
