More on the San Jose Sharks
Because of his physical condition, Ellis probably will not play again, with the San Jose Sharks likely to put him on long-term injury reserve. While they are absorbing the final two years of his eight-year contract, which carries an annual $6.25 million cap hit, the Sharks now get roster flexibility.
And the Flyers get salary cap relief, clearing $4.45 million from the books.
The 27-year-old Grundstrom played in 56 games with the San Jose Sharks last season and scored nine points (three goals, six assists), He has appeared in 292 games with the Los Angeles Kings (2018-24) and San Jose Sharks and tallied 76 points (43 goals, 33 assists).
Guryev, 22, played with Wichita of the ECHL last season and scored five points (two goals, three assists) in 47 games.
