(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild have emerged from the preseason and now are preparing to drop the puck on the regular season starting Thursday in St. Louis. Wild general manager Bill Guerin added a couple of pieces in the offseason to his roster but the most important work was extending two thirds of his top line along with locking down his starting goaltender. Both Kirill Kaprizov and Marco Rossi were given contract extensions in recent weeks which included making Kaprizov the highest paid player in N-H-L history. Then over the weekend, goaltender Filip Gustavsson signed a five year, 35 million dollar deal. The Wild will spend the this week preparing for the opener against the Blues in St. Louis on Thursday night. Puck drops at 7 P-M. The home opener is on Saturday night against the Blue Jackets at Grand Casino Arena.
