Vancouver Canucks make roster decision regarding pair of injured defenseman

In their press release where they announced the team’s roster, the Vancouver Canucks announced that defensemen Guillaume Brisebois and Jett Woo will begin the season as «Injured Non-Roster» or as PuckPedia has it listed – Season Opening Injured Reserve (SOIR).”NEWS: The Vancouver Canucks have announced their Opening night roster (14F/7D/2G), per @PuckPedia.

Injured Reserve:
D Guillaume Brisebois (SOIR)
LW Nils Höglander
D Jett Woo (SOIR)” @ATHornHockey said on X.

Brisebois, 28, signed a one-year deal in late June to remain with the Vancouver Canucks after helping their AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, claim their first-ever Calder Cup in team history.

However, heading into training camp, the team got some bad news about the Longueuil, Quebec native, who they drafted all the way back in 2015, as it was revealed he was going to be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to fix a lower-body injury he sustained.

#Canucks say Guillaume Brisebois has had surgery to repair a lower body injury. He is out indefinitely. Jeff Paterson of Canucks Army said last month.

Everyone here at Canucks Daily are hoping that Guillaume Brisebois & Jett Woo are doing well in their respective injury recoveries and that they’ll be able to return to the ice, and help Abbotsford toward back-to-back Calder Cups, very soon.
