1. Police: Body recovered after car drives into Niagara River from Scenic Parkway
Police say that the body is that a deceased local male. The person’s identity is being withheld at this time. Police have concluded the search and said no one else is missing from the incident.
2. First phase of $100 million Buffalo sewer improvement project complete
The end goal is to better control the amount of sewage overflowing into the Scajaquada Creek, Black Rock Canal and Hoyt Lake. The project seeks to upgrade the sewer collection system along East Delavan Avenue, Florida Street, and Spillman Place.
3. Appeal filed in lawsuit over City of Buffalo efforts to enforce Proactive Rental Inspection Law
Those suing the city claim officials are not carrying out this law that was adopted in 2020. The even bigger problem is that the alleged neglect is leading to kids getting lead poisoning.
4. Niagara Falls City Schools Superintendent Mark Laurrie to retire next year
Laurrie says that he is retiring in June of next year. He hopes to have a successor in place by February to help make for a smooth transition.
5. Diggs return a reminder of the impact of game-changing receiver for Bills

Evidence will show Robert Brooks died within a half-hour of arriving at Marcy Correctional Facility due, in part, to the depraved, violent and indifferent actions of three former correction officers facing trial, the special prosecutor said Tuesday in his opening statement.

Sabres add new food options for upcoming season at KeyBank Center
New options include special sandwiches like a two-foot-long chicken parmesan sandwich, the Big Parm Thompson, inspired by forward Tage Thompson’s pregame meal of chicken parmesan with vodka sauce.
