The past four months have to be the best 120 days of the Jake Walman NHL career. In June, he played in the Stanley Cup Final.  On Monday, the Oilers gave him a new seven-year contract for $49 million.

Ex-Detroit player Wallman was the other Oilers player to sign a new yesterday.

Do you think Walman saw himself ending up in this position when the Red Wings moved him to San Jose? His career had more downs than ups before the Red Wings traded him.  Now, his NHL contract goes until he’s 36. And the Oilers are as happy about it as he is.
